About the company
As well as doing Residential windows, we also have a large client base of Commercial and Business customers. Many of our customers are switching over to the RO system, because of the benefits of the new system. However, that being said, we still maintain the use of Traditional methods for the washing of the inside windows, as we cannot use the RO system internally, due to the rinsing off process.
In Febuary 2006 we purchased our first Trailer Mounted "RO" Window Cleaning System (Wash-10) & in January 2007 we bought our second unit (Wash-20). Imagine, windows so clean for weeks on end that they sparkle in the sunlight. The dirt, dust and grime just falls off them, and this is achieved only by using 100% pure water. Thats right, no chemicals, soaps or detergents. No Chamios or drying, they dry using natures own evaporation. It's 100% Enviromently Friendly, cost effective, and quicker than the conventional methods of window cleaning. Not to mention safer than the conventional methods, because of the unique "Water Fed Pole System" this enables us to clean your windows from the ground level, up to 3 storys high, without taking one foot off the ground.
The use of ladders is reduced immensly, which in turn reduces the risk of falling off them. We have been servicing Adelaide for over 25 years, and most of our clients are switching over to having their windows cleaned with the "RO" System, mainly because of the end result. It not only makes windows shine, but also Cars, Signage and any washable surface. Of course Tradional methods are still available if you wish, how ever once you have seen how clean the glass is you will not want any other type of external window cleaning done again.
About five years ago Kym designed and had produced a trolley which carries all the equipment necessary to clean windows within shopping malls and large centres. This has eliminated a lot of trips back to the car and in again carrying equipment. It also has helped eliminate carrying heavy buckets of water and other equipment long distances. Kym was also involved with Raven Products in the production of the GLIDEX® range of window cleaning products. Kym tested the range of equipment he was using in his daily work, and reported any changes that may have been needed in the design before the product wasput into manufacture. He had several other cleaners also try the new designs with their feedback being a vital part of the information gathered.
The GLIDEX® range is now available to window cleaners all over the world, with the product now exported to an international market. The latest technology to arrive has been the introduction of Pure Water as a cleaning tool. This technology has been used widely in the United Kingdom and is rapidly growing in popularity in the United States. In fact new OH&S rules in the U.K. limit the use of ladders making the new Water Fed Pole systems used with the Pure Water one of the preferred cleaning methods. We have purchased two of these units, which using Reverse Osmosis can filter water to 99.9% pure, and using the water fed poles can reach comfortably to three stories high without the use of ladders.
Water Labs are the Water Filtration experts who provided the filtration unit using their immense knowledge of Reverse osmosis and the benefits of Pure Water. Once again Kym was a part of the design of the trailer system that has a complete mobile unit that can be used to filter the water on site if needed. What does all this mean to our customers?· It means a cleaning job which is cleaner, safer, includes frames and is environmentally friendly. It means more privacy for you, a safer work environment for our contractors and still at a reasonable price for you. It means that we believe you deserve to have the best possible service available to you and that is what we will endeavour to provide. Our desire to give a professional service to all our customers has enabled us to win two Small Business Awards and to have been semi-finalists in six others.
What is Reverse Osmosis ? Reverse Osmosis, also known as Ultra-Filtration by the industry, represents state-of-the-art in water treatment technology. Reverse Osmosis (RO) was developed in the late 1950's as a method of desalinating sea water. Today, reverse osmosis has earn its name as the most convenient and thorough method to filter water.
It is used by most water bottling plants, and by many industries that require ultra-refined water in manufacturing. Now this advanced technology is available to homes and offices for drinking water filtration. How It Works In short, it is the process by which water molecules are forced through a 0.0001 micron semi-permeable membrane by water pressure. Long sheets of the membrane are ingeniously sandwiched together and rolled up around a hollow central tube in a spiral fashion. This rolled-up configuration is commonly referred to as a spiral wound membrane or module. They are available in different sizes for processing different quantities of water. For the membrane to be usable it must be in some type of container (membrane housing) so pressure can be maintained on its surface.
It is this pressure, that supplies the energy to force the water through the membrane, separating it from unwanted substances. The most amazing aspect of RO is that the substances left behind are automatically diverted to a waste drain so they don't build up in the system as with conventional filtering devices. This is accomplished by using a part of the unprocessed water (feed water) to carry away the rejected substances to the drain, thus keeping the membrane clean. This is the reason to why RO membranes can last so long and perform like new with minimum maintenance even after years of operation.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Q - If there are no chemicals used, then wouldn't that mean you would need to scrub the dirt away?
A - No, there is no harsh scrubbing involved. We use a special soft brush to work the pure water into the surface of the dirt, allow it to soak, and then rinse off using the pure water. As well as windows & glass this system is also ideal for Classic or Show Vehicles, when the shine on the paint needs to be at it's best. Because there is virtually no pressure on the soft brush, unlike that of hand washing, it just lifts the dirt off the surface, and then rinses away leaving a beautiful shine.
Q - What is the difference between tap water and pure water?
A - Without confusing you with technical babble, Tap water is full of impurities like calcium, chlorine, rust and heavy metals, which remain behind on the surface of an object, when the water evaporates (hence the streaking and white spots on glass). Pure Water is just that "PURE" no impurities! To get the water pure, it is filtered through 2 different filters before being put through the "Reverse Osmosis" membrane. Once it passes through the membrane, it then goes through another filter that makes the magic happen, it takes 100% of the impurities out of the water. Waters natural state is dirty, so when the water is pure, it actually attracts dirt to itself, taking the dirt away from the surface of what is being cleaned. After the surface has had the initial pass-over with the soft brush, the surface is then rinsed off with pure water, taking all the dirt and grime to the ground.
Q - Does it use a lot of water?
A - Surprisingly enough, no. It looks as if it uses a lot, but in actual fact, it only just wets the surface. On average the system only uses 1.5 litres of water a minute, compared to the garden hose that uses on average 7 litres per minute. Because there is no chemicals or detergents used, if the run off from your windows accidentally dribbles on the lawn, or plants, it will not hurt them in any way, it's simply just dirty water!
